Preseason prognosticators predicted MT would finish at the bottom of CUSA in Baseball in 2018. And, I haven't been real confident about their prospective finish either. BUT, a sweep of Western would be a mighty good start to conference play.

It's one thing to walk as many batters as we have. And it's another to also hit as many as we do. We've put more than 50 hitters on base than the other worst team at putting hitters on base.

But we make up for it by also being last in the number of hits we allow. How can we be that wild but also give up the most hits? If we win five more games in conference play I will consider it a miracle. Our pitchers might be the worst in all of college baseball.

Hits allowed
1. UTSA 129
2. Marshall 141
3. LA Tech 142
UAB 142
5. Florida Atlantic 144

17-15 overall/5-7 in conference. Just got swept at home by Marshall while being outscored 26-8.

I guess the beat goes on...

Southern Miss has dominated MT for 4 consecutive years, getting all 3 in Hattiesburg this weekend. Since USM is ranked 14th in the country; we ought not be surprised. But, this continued ineptitude on the part of our baseball program as an overall doormat in CUSA has to raise the ire of Steve Smith, Darrel Freeman, Sr. and the rest of the Board of Trust. Remember, the Baseball Coach is a Chris Massaro hire. So, If Massaro hasn't already told Coach that he is on a really short leash (with a specific performance requirement i.e., a better record, going to our own tourney and winning there, appearing in the NCAA post season); then the AD ought to be fired. As a longtime BRAA member, I believe it's time for a change.

20-20-1 overall (6-11-1 in conference). Just outscored 28-3 in the sweep.

We are in 10th place and right now on the outside looking in for the conference tourney. Yikes.

I believe this would be the 4th year in a row we don't even make the C-USA tourney IF we don't make it? Enough is enough.
